Training
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. “Marriage and Family Therapist” is a standardized professional designation, but it really just means that I specialize in helping to improve relationships among individuals, couples, and families. The “licensed” part of that credential means that I’ve completed Graduate School, 3000 hours of supervised internship, and have passed two state licensing exams.
My first internship specialized in working with adolescents and their families and in coordinating the Anger Management programs for various Middle Schools and High Schools in San Mateo County. My second internship specialized in working with trauma survivors. Experience gained in both internships instilled in me a deep appreciation and interest in accompanying teens, adults, and trauma survivors on their way to fulfilling relationships and to deeper meaning in life.
